At TANICEV our goal is to supply our customers with suitable, alternative energy transportation.
We work with the client from the design stage all the way through
the delivery of the vehicle. We will offer suggestions and realistic advice to meet
your needs. We will aid in the donor car choice, discuss and determine the best
system to fit your specific needs. Most donor cars should weigh no more than 2500 lbs curb
weight and really should have a manual transmission, front or rear wheel drive is
ok. We recommend a clutch less system so there will be a brief “re learning” to drive period.
Driving a manual transmission with no clutch is easier than driving a manual transmission
with a clutch.
Our cars that we convert for you will have a 1-year warranty on all the work and custom-built
parts that we have built. The batteries (traction pack) will come with the manufacturers
warranty, typically 18 months for EV applications.The entire process once we receive the donor
car from you will take between 4-8 weeks depending on parts availability, motors controllers
etc. The recent increased demand for converted electric cars has made some parts difficult
to acquire quickly, we have very good relationships with many different suppliers and
wholesalers so there should not be any issues.
Upon the start of the conversion we will require a $10,000.00 deposit for parts
etc. The balance will be due when we turn the car over to you. The total costs can
range from $11,000.00 to $85,000.00 depending on motor and battery choice.
If you have a particular car that is outside the “norm” we will discuss scenarios to
make it a reality for you. The most reasonable systems will utilize flooded lead acid
batteries, the next step up would be sealed lead acid batteries or AGM. The best
but by far the most expensive is Lithium Iron Phosphate, these require very
specific chargers and battery management. You can expect to pay 20-40K
just for the batteries, charger and BMS (battery management system).
We can and will at an additional cost, have the car painted, get new tires,
front end alignment etc. This will all be discussed and put in the final contract
before receiving your deposit. Changes can be made during the conversion but may
have an effect on the final price. (as agreed to by both parties)
